While I was mulling over the idea to start a blog, I happened to see this little lady at my local Family Christian Store. I thought she was cute and encouraging. She looked like a mom in her PJs to me, ready to remind me to be the positive parent I want to be.
When I looked at my receipt, it said that she’s a nurse. I guess that makes sense since this verse references medicine. But moms dispense medicine regularly, too, so I’m sticking with my original assessment and calling her a merry mom.
I love her Bible verse – Proverbs 17:22: A merry heart does good, like medicine. A happy spirit does good not only for ourselves, but for those we’re around as well. For moms particularly, a cheerful attitude has an uplifting effect on the household. We’ve all heard the saying that nobody’s happy when mom’s not happy. Conversely, when mom is cheerful, it creates a positive effect.
My little merry mom is on my desk to serve as an encouragement to make the most of every moment with a thankful heart. God has truly blessed me with my family, and I want to strive to be the best I can be for them.
