Feeling creative? 12 fall project inspirations + sale

A long weekend is the perfect time to get creative, don’t you think?  Do you have any crafty projects you’re working on?

My problem is always that I have so many projects I want to do that it’s hard to focus on just one!  Today I narrowed it down to 12 fall project inspirations.

Since September is National Sewing Month, it’s a great time for sewing projects!

My daughter is counting on me to finally sew the tote bag I’ve been promising to make her.  We picked Simplicity Sewing Pattern 2274 (affiliate link).  She selected her fabric, so now I just need to get busy and sew.  It will be so cute once I get it done – and perfect for my daughter’s overnighters!

Of course, you don’t even need a pattern for many sewing projects.  I recently wrote about how to sew simple new pillow covers without a pattern.  It’s a easy project for a great, new look.

If you want a fabric project without having to sew, you don’t need a pattern or a sewing machine for Martha Stewart’s tutorial on how to make no-sew tote bags with fabric, duct tape, and staples.

Now that fall is just around the corner, I’m also thinking about candle projects.  I like my DIY monogrammed candle holders to personalize candles.  Now I’m planning to try something new: pouring my own soy candles.  I bought the CandleScience Soy Candle Making Kit (affiliate link) to get started.  I love the idea of creating my own candles right at home and experimenting with different scents.

These candle projects are a fun way to get ahead on some Christmas gifts!  Or you can decorate your home with some crafty candle ideas.

If you’re looking for some fall decor, Spark & Chemistry has a fun tutorial for an autumn leaf decoupaged mason jar candle holder.  I also love the simple cinnamon stick-embellished candles tutorial on Home Stories A to Z.

Better Homes and Gardens has a collection of fun ideas for embellishing candles.  These are easy 1-hour projects that add some extra flair around the house.

You can also create fall ambience with some wood crafts.  I enjoy displaying my simple “Happy fall y’all” sign.  It’s an easy, fun project to welcome the change of seasons.  Add an easy harvest banner, and your mantle has instant fall charm!

Marty’s Musings has a tutorial for applying the “happy fall y’all” sentiment to outdoor fence-board pumpkins.  So cute!

You can also get in the fall spirit with Ribbons and Glue’s tutorial for wood block pumpkins.
